SSFC 2021 REVIEW

As we begin 2022, we have taken the opportunity to review and summarise SSFC highlights from 2021.

Despite another difficult year managing our way through the COVID pandemic, SSFC has continued to develop in terms of leadership, structure, strategy and integration within the community. SSFC has a solid financial basis and excellent individual and local business support to help us continue to work towards our objectives.

SSFC is very strongly committed to child safeguarding and it forms the foundation of the football club.

2021 Summary Highlights

Football
1. 82 registered Senior players across 3 teams
2. 78 registered Junior players across 6 mixed teams and one U9 Girls only team
3. Plus weekly Shooting Stars (aged 4-6 years) and Development (aged 6-10 years) coaching sessions
4. 12 SSFC coaches have completed FA level 1 courses (now known as ‘Introduction to Coaching Football Course’)
5. Most Junior teams are moving up to the next division at each league rotation and remaining competitive
6. One of our female players attends Newcastle United foundation training
7. Our U8’s won the first Jackie Charlton soccer tournament in the summer
8. In 2021, SSFC added 3 more junior teams (U7,U9 & U10) as well as a development coaching session
9. Junior team geographic has broadened to now include players from all villages within Seaton Valley as well as Cramlington, Whitley Bay, Blyth and Tynemouth

12. There were also many individual and business donations to support events, raffles, domino cards, player sponsorship and refreshment stalls.
13. The Co-op Community fund raised a staggering £4,552.74 for the club, thanks to Co-op members
14. SSFC is now an active member of the Northumberland Lottery scheme

Charitable Contributions and Donations
15. Following the Fun Day and Charity event in August 2021, SSFC made sizeable donations to the following charities:
a. Seaton Sluice Public Access Defibrillator Support Group
b. Sir Bobby Robson Foundation
c. Summer Rae
16. Following the SSFC Christmas raffle in December 2021, 10% of all proceeds was donated to Blyth Food Bank.
17. In December 2021, SSFC provided selection boxes for all pupils at Seaton Sluice First School as well as to all registered SSFC Junior team players who don't attend the first school - this included those who attend the Shooting Stars and Development coaching sessions - in total around 300 selection boxes were distributed across the community.
